Profile Picture
Narrative Biography

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, in the United States, and am looking to explore Japan sometime in the next few years. I am currently graduating as an undergraduate student at George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in drawing and a minor in illustration. Before this, I was enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College, and after I was accepted into George Mason for my excellent portfolio, I began my journey into the art world.

I chose the art program because I was fascinated by the influences and technicalities of mechanical designs in engineering school before deciding to change majors to something more personal to me. I am creating art because it uses my fuel of creative and imaginative designs in a constructive manner that doesn’t require difficult understandings or complex mechanical structures to create. I look forward to displaying my work at an exhibition or gallery in the future; currently I do share my art via many social media platforms and art websites such as Deviantart, Instagram and Art station. I look forward to traveling around the country to present my work at a convention where other likeminded artists could experience my work and buy artwork that I make. Although I haven’t thought of exhibiting my work before, I would firstly like to sell my work and look into applying for jobs and work for a video game company to make concept art. My goal is to develop my skills at a video game company where my love for mecha, or giant robots, will be realized by creating characters and assets for players to enjoy.

High School Graduate

SKILLS

Advanced: Blender, Clip Studio, Audacity
Proficient: SAI, Photoshop

I am an Arts and Visual Technology major working at George Mason University. My body of work consists of pencil drawings and digital illustrations to create concept art of sci-fi elements and technology. As a child growing up, I always wanted to be an inventor, creating inventions, and understanding technology was my passion. I wanted to change the world with my ideas, I would draw these inventions in my notebook, which started my development in art. I would sketch all throughout middle school into high school, and finally in college I realized my true passion was making art, which had developed thanks to my invention notebook as well as high school art classes.

I primarily use pencil and paper when creating my art, but also draw digitally using a drawing tablet to create concept art. My artistic influence is primarily based on my love for God, which has inspired me from looking at nature and seeing how things move and function, including natural forces and properties of physics. Using my love for technology to fuel my imagination for art has been my secondary driving force for becoming an art major. An example of my art that relates to my thesis is my Zarya tactical trooper concept skin, which is a digital art piece that conceptualizes sci-fi elements and technology from one game to another. One of my favorite pieces is the arc angel mark 4 drawing, which draws inspiration from biblical angels and my love for technology in a way that ties them together harmoniously.

With developments into concept artwork from previous examples, I am working towards 3d modeling, which includes editing, compiling, and texturing models from video games. As a concept artist, video games are a great way to invest into creating “skins,” or cosmetic remodels, and 3d modeling is a beginning step towards that. I am currently working on a set of Destiny 2 3D models that would represent my guardians from the game. I also plan to take my ideas for a concept video game and make them into 3d models from my drawings.
